As humans, we instinctively seek the company and comfort of others. And with technologies including mobile email, Facebook, and Twitter, even when we're alone, we never have to be alone.
Despite our intertwined lives, however, we each have our own unique dharma, or life's purpose, that we can only discover and realize individually. To do this, inner inquiry—without distraction—is required.
This week, take a break from your social network and find time to be in sweet solitude with yourself. Take a mini "staycation" and practice a self-inquiry meditation to help hone your dharma, or plan to attend the next yoga retreat on your own. Finally, gather courage in self-imposed quarantine from one yogi who learned to face his fears by taking a solo vision quest in the forest.
Om Shanti,
