The Parent Child Home Program — Dublin!
Beth Fagan started the first Parent Child Home Program (PCHP) in Dublin as part of the Early Learning Initiative to help address the educational disadvantages that exist in the inner city of Dublin. PCHP sends trained home visitors with books and toys to prepare young children for school success by increasing language and literacy skills, enhancing social-emotional development, and strengthening the parent-child relationship. Beth has seen particular success with classic children’s books due to their universal messages and popularity among young children.
Read more of Beth Fagan’s first-hand account below to learn about her experience nurturing a lifelong love of reading with the children of Dublin.
